Shed The Flab To Be Fab

Be a roadside fastfood or a lip smacking junk food plates out in malls, which draws your mind to binge on more than a healthy diet at home, isn't it?

Finger licking good dishes when dish out in a platter increase the appetite and push one to eat more. Many a time, we eat more than required just because the food tastes delectable to tongue, but gives back a diseased health. When we consume a large portion of unhealthy diet, the extra energy stored gets converted into fats. And the fats shape our size from fab to flab. Goes without saying, plump babies look cute. But with their growing age, their plump looks no longer be a sight for sore eyes.

The fats, if ignored in childhood can take the shape of obesity in adulthood. Owing to sedentary lifestyles, obesity is growing rapidly, leaving unhealthy and lethargic bodies behind. According to World Health Organization (WHO), nearly 400 million adults and around 20 million children are down with obesity. By calculating your Body Mass Index (BMI), you can find out if you are a victim of the monster disease named Obesity.

What Is Obesity?

When a person's excess body fat gets accumulated to a high degree, resulting in overweight and an adverse effect on health.

What Causes Obesity?

With the growing number of food joints, people are inclined towards colourful junk foods to please their appetite but are hazardous for health. Sweetened beverages and snack meals are oftenthe targets of young children, which are high in calories and a major cause of obesity.  Factors Associated With Obesity In Children And Adults: In a cut-throat competition where studies consume a child's time, skipping breakfast or lunch slows down the body's metabolism, turning the child inactive and lethargic.

Also, watching television during meals should not be entertained. A child needs to enjoy his/her meal, instead of glueing eyes on the television set. A right diet and a physical activity should be in a child's regime to rule out obesity. As for adults, obesity makes its abode in those bodies who gorge on food but laze around to make efforts in physical activities. After ingesting high amounts of energy from your diet with no movements, such as walk or exercise, can lead to the surplus energy turn into fats. Many people spend a big chunk of hours sitting at a desk in office or those who count on their four wheelers rather than travelling distances on foot, the energy consumed do not burn off.

Relishing on hamburgers, fries or any such spicy food, with no physical activity, result in obese. Hence, it is imperative to wean yourself off from petty habits of indulging in yummy delectable. Obesity does not take place in an instant. A poor lifestyle brings you closer to the disease.

Other Factors Of Obesity: A family heredity could be one of the factors of obesity. Certain healthcare drugs like antidepressants or contraceptive pills can be the reason of unnecessary weight gain. Seek for a medical checkup from time to time.

Diseases Linked To Obesity: Obesity dents your health in the form of coronary heart disease, Type 2 diabetes, hypertension, gynecological problems, stroke, sleep and respiratory problems, liver and gall bladder hassles.

Remedy: Dietary changes and workout can punch obesity. One needs to follow a healthy diet to get shot of the disease. Consult with your healthcare provider for the amount of calories you need to consume. Curb your insatiable craving for processed and fattening foods and switch to foods rich in volume but low in calories. Alongside of diet, have a one-to-one consultation with your physical trainer to train you in the physical activities requisite for a healthy and toned body.

A little effort from your part can make a huge difference for your good health. Walk around frequently, take the stairs instead of the elevator, a leisure walk in the garden, trim your excess fats in the gym and so forth. A diseased body is a step closer to death. Who does not wish to have a healthy body and in trim? All you need to do is banish greed of unhealthy diet and give a change to your taste bud by enjoying a nutritious meal.

How Deep a Depression Can be

You attend your colleague's felicitation party, who has been conferred with a promotion. While your colleague wears a crown of success, you wear a crown of distress on your head and come back home with a bagful of depression. While you clap for others, you imagine yourself to be clapped by others for you. The thoughts of your colleague's achievements give a pierce in your mind. The thoughts of defeat are so up to the brim, making you fall into the pit of depression.

You often encounter with unfavourable situations and you degrade yourself for your failures. You feel down and despair overcasts your mind. The bouts of glum change your thinking process. Later, the blues mould into depression, disrupting your life and the lives of everyone else around you. Unmask the truth of depression: Grief is a reaction to life's setbacks. The feelings of defeat and failure seem intense and no rays of hope dart your heart. No matter how fortunate you are, you are destined to meet with adversities in your life. You are bound to stumble upon the bitter sides of life after having tasted a string of fortunes, and you become an easy prey to depression. When despair takes hold of your mind, it gives rise to hopelessness. To escape the pain you experience within yourself, you choose the path of suicide because you see the doors of hope getting closed before you. When despair goes deep, leaves you mind with suicidal thoughts.
How deep a depression can be?

Aside from physical symptoms, other symptoms need to be highlighted.

A) Depression clogs your peace of mind, keeping you miserable at all times.
B) Nothing seems to interest you.
C) The feeling of being inferior rules your mind.
D) You have trouble-sleeping because you are deeply perturbed from within.
E) Your tolerance level declines and losing temper on trifles is visible.
F) Depression blocks your thoughts, concentration and decision-making.

Rule out your depression:

A) Depression drains your energy. Break the shackles of your pessimism.
B) Do not strive to be perfect.
C) Banish 'cannot' from your mind and replace 'can' in your mind.
D) Do not make negative interpretations without real evidence.
E) Be with people who adopt optimism in their turbulent times.
F) Take life in a positive stride.
Bear in mind you are not on this earth to be perfect. You are allotted with your share of work. Give your best shot what life offers you. So what, if you are far away from success-crown. Today, might not be yours. Your honest endeaveours are bound to give their fruits someday, for sure. Why to fall in the pit of sorrows, counting on your today's actions?
Succumbing to depression for something you didn't get will keep you away from something better you can get. Sitting in a corner and cupping your face in your hands won't give you back what you have lost. All you need is to root out the weed of sorrows from your mind before it takes a toll on you. Light the fire of your potentialities, surge ahead, trampling the defeats you meet your way. Life is not to be depressed, but to give your best and be blessed.

Emotions in the Expression of Emoticons

Today you are in the seventh heaven for having achieved something you have been toiling for long. You are flushing with excitement and eager to express your heyday to your dear ones. You go to dial your loved one's number, you halt for a minute, something crosses your mind and you put your phone
back to the place.
You switch on to 'create message' of your phone or log in to your email to type your biggest moment of life, followed by emoticons. The receiver of your email or text is glad to know your accomplishment and your overwhelming expression of joys in the form of emoticons. They could have been more elated if you would have expressed it by way of a direct communication. In the days of digital communication, we prefer to take the short-cut means to show our inner feelings via texts, emails and animated emotions. But we forget that our emotions are best expressed when they are said and shown in real.
'Yippieeeeee' :-) :-) :-) fail to show your real uncontrolled elation. In the age of chats, messenger, we chat, the means of online communication do their jobs of expressing oneself and here 'emoticons' come into play. Instead of giving free expression of various shades of emotions in front of the people, we seek aid of instant animated icons. Either we think our straightforward lines might go unnoticed or our outburst of emotions might seem to be shocking and weird, so we pick emoticons. Live human contact is slowly becoming a history.
People are so much in love with emoticons that after every expression of feelings, an emotion is sure to be seen. While you pay heed to emoticons, you skip to notice the actual ongoing emotions behind the pictorial emotions. The feelings of joy, anger, love, dismay and so forth can be felt by the tone of the voice, bodily posture and body language. A digital communication cannot potray your physical implications what the one-on-one communication can do. The popularized use of 'emoticons' are growing so steadily that human' emotions got dug in these animated emotional icons. Your facial expressions and body language can speak thousand words what emoticons cannot. Do not let emoticons take a toll in your personal relations. Keep pictorial expressions at bay and be better at expressing yourself through face and voice than alphabets and emotional icons. Do not get your emotions digitalised.

Living in the Expensive Days

Making plans to amaze your kids with a lavish birthday bash?

Looking forward to your anniversary date with great anticipation to amuse your spouse with a surprise treat? Give a halt to your extravagant plans because the monster 'inflation' is set to trample your celebratory mood by punching high rates, showing you the path of cost-cutting. Delicacies make a feast complete. Feeding delicacies to many are far-fetched, as food and groceries are soaring each day. In India, more than half the wages is spent on feeding. With the continuous rise in prices, many people go starve. The present scenario is so nerve-racking that price hikes leave a big hole in the pocket.
Time was when people used to wait to give a lavish celebration because spending money was no bar to them. In today's stress-bound life where festivals are the only reason of celebration, the inflation leaves a sign of dismay on your face. The reason behind people are paying more than they used to pay in the past years. Owing to steep rise in the prices, women are battling with the household budget. The dream of a healthy diet has flown out of the window. A nourished diet is beyond the reach of a common man, as it is reachable to business class. On one hand, onions make everyone weep; on the other, fuel hikes are set to puncture your leisure travel. Inflation has created such havoc on household budget that there is little headroom left to spend on your personal happiness. We all love to shop for our loved ones.

Before giving, you have to think over how much you can expend?

Will it mess up your budget? The days are gone when you carried a number of shopping bags, keeping price tags at bay. Today is the day when you have to secretly check the tags first before a purchase.
Thus, shopping has become a necessity, rather than a joy of giving. Every little thing is hitting the roof, leaving the middle class in the lurch. Not only food rates, but also the property rates steep high each passing day.
In the coming time, it will be next to impossible for the coming generation to seek shelter in a 370 square feet space. The source of income remains stagnant but price of items has sky-rocketed. Earlier, people were in position to buy things in excess for the times of exigency. In present days, people buy things to make their ends meet. Instead of taking measures to mitigate public woes, in the name of country's development, government is giving innumerable blows which is getting unbearable for the people of India. One such is the steep rise in the cooking gas cylinders, imposing an intolerable burden on the common man's shoulder. A service class is left to combat with stagnant income on one end and rising prices on the other end.

Will a man's woes ever be heard?
Will a poor man's tears ever be wiped?
Will a square meal ever be served as a full meal in the common man's platter by the government?
